Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to route long distance calls if the long distance provider has just provided IP address of the softswitch and open ports on their firewall?
If yes ..what needs to configured if the Trixbox is connected to Sysmaster server for making/receiving calls?
Wht if I want to eliminate Sysmaster and just have Trixbox as my main server for making/receiving calls?
I would appreciate if I could get configuration info for both the scenario.
I have a PRI for local/long distance call but now I want to route long distance calls through another provider( IrisTel)
IrisTel guys are not familiar with Asterisk.
Thanks

Hi Tmk,
You have to create the correct routing in your Trixbox server to relay your calls from Sysmaster.
If you want to eliminate Sysmaster, you have to register all your VOIP phones at Trixbox server, by creating SIP accounts and create a routing for long distance calls to Iristel's VOIP server.
I want to say that Iristel is familiar with Asterisk/Trixbox family and we understand how important development of Asterisk server for VOIP community.
We are using Asterisk as _internal_ conference server, Trixbox server as calling center server.
Iristel can't substitute Trixbox's tech support service and we know that every Asterisk/Trixbox server has unique configuration/environment, so it why we don't support users's servers. Asterisk's software is not Windows and VOIP's world is not simple, so I think people who involved in support Asterisk should have some good, solid knowledge of Linux/VOIP/etc..
Iristel supplies users with a general configuration, which they can use as an example. We are always available for troubleshooting (SIP tracing, SIP negotiation, etc).
